Expert’s Advice
We at Price Builders know how difficult remodeling in San Diego can be for the homeowner so we've compiled a set of tips to help make your project run smoothly. Our first priority is always the customer – even if you choose another company, these guidelines stem from years of professional construction and remodeling experience and are certain to help you.
Know the plan - Knowing the work schedule will reduce your inconvenience. Often, several workers will be working on different aspects of your project - for example, plumbing and electrical work. Keep in touch with your contractor - Staying in touch with your contractor will help you know the progress of your project, foresee any deviations from the schedule, and will enable you to prepare necessary areas of your house for upcoming work. Speak Up - Discrepancies in the contract, design, or materials should be addressed immediately. Often, building codes or government inspectors will require minor design changes. In these cases, discuss and document these changes with your contractor.
When your project is close to completion, make a checklist with every single aspect of your project. Use the original contract as a guide but don't forget to include any addendums or change orders you have signed during the construction process. Review this list with your contractor and schedule time to complete all overlooked issues. Always keep your copy of the contract, as well as the approved set of plans and the inspection record card. This information will be required if you plan to sell or remodel your house again.
